1921 (Feb 21) 'Damaged in Transit' cover Sydney to 'Miss Bliss, Cristobel, Canal Zone' franked with 3rd wmk 3d olive Die II (damaged LR cnr), tied by Sydney machine cancel. At LL h/s 'SS Sagama River', superb violet h/s 'This piece of mail damaged by fire & water aboard SS Santa Ana March 24 1921'. The steamer sailed from New York on 23 Mar 21, & fire broke out the next day, severely affecting the bags of mail. A scarce damaged in the mail cover. (P)

1941 Censored Airmail cover with 'Sydney 3 DEC 41' franking machine 3/11 imprint for ½oz to Canada, with censor tape & h/s plus 'California Clipper' h/s. The last flight left Auckland on 25th Nov, but suspension of the service not announced until 18th Dec, so sender paid for airmail, but was sent normal seamail, so grossly overpaid! (P)

Military WWII Labuan & North Borneo battle: 1945 rare in the field covers (with m/s 'NSA') from Capt PB Edwards of 2/8th Field Regt artillery in support of infantry forces (16 Jun) handmade cover with fair FPO 037 cds, (29 Jun) from Weston or Beaufort areas showing superb FPO 035 cds (of 24 Bde), 24 Bde landed in Brunei over a week or more in late June & helped capture Weston then Beaufort by the end of June (2). Proud 1500 points Beaufort, 750 pts for 037 Labuan. (2).
